Kawat Terms & Conditions

Effective October 1, 2026 · Last updated September 28, 2026

Welcome to Kawat. Kawat is a pickup-basketball community and technology platform for adults in the Philippines. With Kawat you can find and post games, challenge other teams, build a team, join Tati's Game Nights and tournaments, watch and stream games on Kawat LIVE, and get help from Tati, Kawat's AI host.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Kawat's website, mobile apps, services, content and features ("Kawat" or the "Platform"). By creating an account or using any account-based feature, you agree to these Terms and to the Kawat Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use Kawat's account-based services.

Just for fun, never gambling. Kawat helps ballers connect and play. Kawat does not collect or hold money between players, and betting on games (pustahan) is not allowed anywhere on Kawat. Court fees are paid directly to the venue. The "losing team covers the court fee" option is a game condition between teams, settled with the venue, not a bet.

1. Eligibility

Kawat accounts are only for people 18 years of age or older. This applies to player accounts and to watch-only (viewer) accounts. By creating an account you confirm that:

The Kawat LIVE schedule and some broadcast pages can be browsed without an account. See the Kawat Age & Public Broadcast Policy.

2. Your Kawat account

You sign up with a username, email address and password, or with your Google, Facebook, TikTok or Apple account, plus a Philippine mobile number. We confirm the number with a one-time code sent by text message, and each mobile number can have only one Kawat account. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for activity on your account. Kawat will never ask for your password in a chat or message. You must not:

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me → Account → Delete account), in the website's settings, or on the page Delete your Kawat account. If you can't log in, email info@queaytech.com from your registered email address.

3. Player profiles and ratings

Your player profile can show your username, jersey colour and number, position, gender, age category (20's, 30's, 40's, 50's), height, city and barangay, team, rating, wins and losses, games played, reliability ("shows up") and game statistics. Your age sets the age division you can play in, so it must be correct.

Ratings, reliability and statistics are calculated from confirmed game results, captain reports and the stat sheet. They are community information, not official rankings. Kawat does not guarantee that anyone's stated skill, statistics, identity or experience is accurate.

4. Teams

A team has one owner and up to 15 players, and every team must set its home barangay. The owner manages the roster, the team's preferred courts, photos and logo, and registers the team for tournaments. Only real, consenting players may be added to a team.

5. Games, challenges and Game Nights

A team captain can post a challenge on the map (any team, teams from a barangay, or one rival team) and tag the court. By default only teams can accept; the organizer can open a game to individual players for that game only. When both teams agree to the deal, the game locks. After the game, the result is confirmed by both captains, the scorer, or Tati from a scoreboard photo. Disputed results can be reported and reviewed.

Tati's Game Nights are free games hosted by Kawat. Players sign up individually and Tati balances the teams. Sponsor perks and prizes are described on each Game Night.

Kawat does not guarantee that a game will happen, that a player or team will show up, that players will be at a particular level, or that a court will be available. You decide whether to take part in any game.

6. Courts

Kawat shows courts on the map. Some are verified by Kawat and some are added by the community. Court names, prices, hours and conditions can change or be wrong, and players can send updates that Tati and the Kawat team review. Kawat does not own or operate the courts. Any court booking, court fee, deposit, cancellation or refund is between you (or your team) and the venue, under the venue's own rules.

7. Kawat Credits

8. Tournaments

Kawat tournaments have their own format, dates, roster limits, entry fee and prizes, shown on the tournament page. Only the team owner can register the team. The entry fee is set by the organizer in pesos and paid directly through PayMongo (GCash, Maya or card). It is not paid with credits. A slot is held for a short time while you pay and is released if the fee is not paid. Every player can be on only one team per tournament. The Kawat Game & Tournament Rules apply.

9. Prizes

The Kawat Official Prize Rules apply to every prize. Cash prizes are offered only with a DTI sales promotion permit, whose number is shown with the prize. Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, any Kawat prize. Prizes (cash, sponsor perks or items) are set by Kawat or its sponsors and described on the Game Night or tournament page, including who is eligible and how prizes are released. Prizes are not stakes between players. Before releasing a cash prize, Kawat may ask winners to confirm their identity and age. Kawat may withhold or cancel a prize if a winner is disqualified for cheating, fraud, a false identity, result manipulation or other serious rule breaking. Taxes on prizes, where required by law, may be the winner's responsibility.

10. Basketball safety

Basketball is a physical sport with real risks, including falls, collisions, sprains, fractures, muscle injuries, dehydration, heat-related illness, serious injury and, in rare cases, death. You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to play. Follow the venue's rules and the instructions of organizers and officials, bring water, and stop playing if you feel unwell. Kawat is not a substitute for medical advice.

11. Your conduct

You must follow the Kawat Community Guidelines. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You can report any message or player and block players in the app and on the website; Kawat reviews reports and may remove content and suspend or remove accounts. Fighting, threats, harassment, stalking, bullying, hate or discrimination, sexual harassment, deliberate injury, betting, fraud, cheating, match or result manipulation, payment or credit abuse, impersonation, illegal activity and anything that puts people at risk are not allowed.

12. Your content

You may post messages, photos (team logo, team photo, scoreboard and court photos), game details, statistics, livestreams and other content ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content. You give Kawat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, distribute and technically process it as reasonably needed to operate, maintain, promote and improve Kawat (for example showing your team's winning card or a game replay). You confirm you have the right to post it, including permission from people who appear in your photos or streams.

13. Recordings and Kawat LIVE

Games may be photographed, recorded or streamed on Kawat LIVE, by Kawat or by players using the Kawat Studio. If you stream a game, you must have the venue's permission where required, stream only games whose players agreed to be streamed, and stop showing anyone who asks not to be shown. Players taking part in a streamed game understand that their image, voice and gameplay may appear in the stream and its replay. Watching LIVE games uses credits, charged only for the minutes actually watched.

14. Tati and AI features

Kawat uses AI, including Tati, to answer questions, suggest games, build challenges, help settle arguments, read scoreboard photos and keep chats safe. The Kawat AI Policy forms part of these Terms.

15. Ads and sponsors

Kawat shows advertisements and sponsor content, for example inside game screens. Sponsors are responsible for their own offers and perks. Kawat counts how often ads are seen and tapped to report to advertisers.

16. Intellectual property

Kawat, Tati, the Kawat logos, designs, software, databases and original content belong to Kawat and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, scrape, sell or exploit them without written permission.

17. Third-party services

Kawat relies on third-party services such as payment providers, app stores, cloud hosting, maps, AI, video streaming, email and push notifications. Their own terms and policies may also apply. See the Kawat Privacy Policy for the list.

18. Availability

Kawat does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. It may pause or change features for maintenance, security, updates, emergencies, third-party failures or other operational reasons.

19. Mutes, suspension and termination

Tati may hide messages that break the chat rules and may mute repeat offenders for a period. Kawat may remove content, restrict features, remove players from games or tournaments, adjust credits obtained by abuse, suspend or permanently close accounts where it reasonably believes a user broke these Terms or the Community Guidelines, committed fraud, created a safety risk, manipulated games, results or tournaments, or otherwise seriously misused Kawat.

20. Disclaimers

Kawat is a technology platform. Unless stated otherwise, Kawat does not guarantee the identity, behaviour, skill, availability, safety or conduct of other users, or the condition, suitability or availability of courts and venues.

21. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Kawat is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or unforeseeable losses arising from your use of Kawat. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Philippine law, including the rights of consumers under the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

22. Indemnification

To the extent allowed by law, you are responsible for claims, losses and expenses that result from your unlawful conduct, your serious breach of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights.

23. Changes

Kawat may add, change or remove features and may update these Terms. Important changes will be announced in Kawat or by email. Continuing to use Kawat after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
