These rules apply to every prize offered on Kawat, at Tati's Game Nights and Kawat tournaments. Each Game Night or tournament page shows the prize, and these rules apply together with that page and the Kawat Game & Tournament Rules.
1. Sponsor
Prizes are offered by Kawat, operated by Queay Information Technology Services, and, where named on the event page, by Kawat's partner sponsors. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, any Kawat prize, contest, Game Night or tournament.
2. No purchase, no betting
Tati's Game Nights are free to join. Tournament entry fees pay for the event (courts, officials and organization) and are never pooled into prizes between players. Prizes are never stakes between players, and betting (pustahan) is not allowed anywhere on Kawat. Buying Kawat Credits does not improve anyone's chance of winning.
3. Who can win
Players who are 18 or older, have a Kawat account in good standing, and are eligible for the event's division and gender. Kawat staff may play but may not receive cash prizes.
4. How winners are decided
Winners are decided by the result on the court, recorded on Kawat by the players, officials or the Kawat team, under the Kawat Game & Tournament Rules. For Game Nights, the Kawat team confirms the winning team. For tournaments, the champion and runners-up are decided by the bracket.
5. Kinds of prizes
- Free court and perks: most Game Nights have no prize: the court is free, and sponsors may give perks to every player (for example drinks or shirts).
- Item prizes: jerseys, shoes, gear or sponsor products, as described on the event page. Items can't be exchanged for cash.
- Cash prizes: offered only with a sales promotion permit from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The DTI permit number is shown on the event page next to the prize. If no permit number is shown, there is no cash prize.
6. Claiming a prize
The Kawat team contacts the winners through Kawat within 7 days of the event. Winners may need to show a valid ID to confirm their identity and age. Item prizes are given at the venue or delivered within the Philippines. Cash prizes are released by bank transfer or e-wallet (for example GCash) in the winner's own name, within 30 days after the identity check. Prizes not claimed within 30 days of being contacted may be forfeited, following the conditions of the DTI permit where one applies.
7. Disqualification
A prize may be withheld for cheating, a false identity, result manipulation, a serious rule violation, or disqualification under the Kawat Community Guidelines.
8. Taxes
Prizes may be subject to Philippine tax. Where the law requires it, Kawat withholds the tax from cash prizes, and the winner is responsible for any other tax.
9. Changes and cancellation
If an event is cancelled or changed for reasons outside Kawat's control (for example weather or venue closure), Kawat may move it to another date or replace a prize with one of equal value, following the DTI permit where one applies. Players who signed up are told in the app.
